Christian Business Partnership Signs in Support of REINS Act
COLUMBUS—The Christian Business Partnership has signed a letter in support of the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act, also known as House Bill 11 (HB11). This is a critical step towards fostering transparency and accountability in the rulemaking process.
Americans for Prosperity Ohio (AFP) released the letter urging the General Assembly to support this critical piece of legislation.
Partnership Executive Director Monty Lobb released the following statement:
“As advocates for Ohio’s job creators, we strongly support House Bill 11 as a vital step toward restoring accountability and transparency in the regulatory process. By requiring legislative approval for any regulation with significant financial impact, this bill ensures that unelected agencies cannot impose costly mandates without oversight from elected representatives. This safeguard is essential to prevent regulatory overreach that could slow job growth, increase the cost of living, and undermine Ohio’s economic competitiveness.
“For Ohio’s small businesses—many of which operate on tight margins—the REINS Act offers protection from burdensome rules that can stifle innovation and discourage investment. By reinforcing responsible, representative policymaking, this legislation helps create a regulatory environment where businesses can thrive, expand, and bless their communities with new opportunities and good-paying jobs.
“We are grateful to Representatives Ron Ferguson (R) and Brian Lorenz (R) for their leadership in sponsoring this vital legislation.”
